Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday formally unveiled a ‘new political map’ of Pakistan, which also shows Indian-administered Kashmir as part of Pakistan.
The move by Pakistan comes a year after India ended Kashmir’s semi-autonomy. On this occasion, India has announced to impose strict curfew in Kashmir under its administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said, “After approval by the Cabinet, this new map has become an official map of Pakistan and will be used in schools and colleges.”
The new map shows Indian-administered Kashmir as part of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan said that Pakistan has always considered Kashmir as its part and this is the first step in this direction. He said that the only solution to the Kashmir dispute was to implement the recommendations of the Security Council.
“Pakistan does not believe in the use of force to solve problems, we will fight politically. We will continue to remind the United Nations that you have made a promise to the people of Kashmir that has not yet been fulfilled.
“Such ridiculous claims have no legal status and no international acceptance,” said a statement issued by the Indian Foreign Ministry after Pakistan unveiled a new political map.
