British Airlines announces resumption of flights to Pakistan From August 14, there will be three direct flights from London to Islamabad. The PIA has also announced a partial resumption of operations for the UK.

According to a statement issued by the British High Commission in Pakistan, British Airways is resuming its flight operations from the UK to Pakistan. The statement said that the service of three flights a week from London’s Heathrow Airport to Islamabad would be launched from August 14, Pakistan’s Independence Day .

The British High Commissioner, Dr. Christian Turner, described the move as important for bilateral relations between Britain and Pakistan. “The resumption of British Airways direct flights is good news for the millions of passengers who regularly travel between the two great countries, especially those who have had their travel plans delayed due to the pandemic,” he said.

Due to the risk of corona virus, British airline staff and passengers will have to wear face masks during the flight and hand sanitizers will be provided on the flight. In addition, special precautions will be taken at the airport for the safety of British Airways staff and passengers.

It should be noted that British Airways direct flights from UK to Pakistan were resumed in June 2019 after a gap of 10 years. However, flight operations were suspended due to the global corona virus outbreak. 

Pakistan International Airlines   has also decided to partially resume flight operations to the UK. According to local media, PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafeez said that PIA passengers will be able to travel to London, Manchester and Birmingham, for which the agency has chartered a plane and crew of a European company.
